Let’s go to Nashville!

This trip includes all of Nashville “musts” for the Christmas holidays! 

Some of the trip highlights included; the General Jackson Showboat Tennessee Christmas Holiday entertainment cruise, a tour of Nashville’s downtown holiday decorations and major sights including music row, recording studios, the Parthenon and more – led by a singing tour guide, great seats for the Grand Old Opry Country Christmas show, a visit to the Frosty the Snowman Ice Exhibit – larger than life art sculptures carved in 6000 blocks of ice, a line dancing class at Nashville Palace (decorated for the holidays), a guided sightseeing tour of stars homes, a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Music City Walk of Fame, and much more. Plus, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Downtown Nashville, and experience firsthand why Nashville is known as the “Music City”.

  • 8:15 AM  Depart Tomah
 
  • 11:15-12:15     Lunch Rockford, IL  Golden Corral (Included)
  • 2:45-3:00 PM     Afternoon rest stop enroute
  • 5:15 PM     Check in at Drury Inn and Suites 145 N. 44th St., Mount Vernon, IL  (618-246-5201)
  • Complimentary kickback 5:30-7:00 p.m. (hot food buffet and 3 beverages – beer, wine, mixed drinks and soft drinks); Soda and popcorn 4:00-8:00 pm (All included).
  • If additional meal desired, on your own restaurants in walking distance include:  Panera, Steak ’n Shake, McAlister’s Deli and others.  Pool hours 9 a.m-10 p.m.
  • 6:00 AM               Breakfast at hotel (Included); Bags to bus by 7:00 a.m.
  • 7:15 AM               Depart hotel
  • 8:45-9:15 AM       Rest stop – Paducah, KY
  • 11:45 AM             Lunch at Chocolate Covered Strawberry (Included)                                
  • 1:15 PM               With tour guide, drive by Conway Twitty’s house/Trinity Broadcasting Network where the Huckabee Show is filmed, Mother Maybelle’s southern ranch style home, Roy Orbison’s property and stop at Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash gravesites and more.
  • 2:30 PM               ICE Exhibit by Opryland Hotel.  See amazing Frosty the Snowman ice display.  It’s a story driven holiday showplace complete with larger than life ice sculptures; 40 artisans spent 6 weeks carving 6, 000 blocks of ice.  Dress warm.  Parkas available. 
  • 3:45 PM               Check into hotel – HI Express and Suites @ Opryland, 2601 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN 37214,  (615-829-7777).
  • 5:00 PM               Depart for Opry Mills Mall (200+ stores/restaurants).  Dinner on your own in food court.
  • 6:20 PM               Depart mall for Grand Ole Opry Country Christmas show
  • 9:30 PM               Return to hotel

                             *Stars are known to sometimes show up and perform at the Nashville Palace (across from the hotel) after the Grand Ole Opry! 

  • 8:00 AM              Breakfast at hotel (Included) (Breakfast served 6-10)
  • 9:00 AM              Depart hotel for a tour of Nashville led by a singing tour guide!  On tour, see Christmas decorations as we tour downtown Nashville sights such as music row. recording studios, Honky Tonk row, state capital, Parthenon in Centennial Park, Ryman Auditorium (original Grand Ole Opry) and much more.                     
  • 12:30 PM            Stop for an official Nashville Welcome at the Visitor Center!                         
  • 12:45 PM            Lunch at Assembly Food Hall (many bars and eateries) on your own followed by free time to experience downtown Broadway Street bars and entertainment (MANY famous bars to enjoy with different genres of music including Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge (a must see), Ole Red, The State, Legends Corner and many more)!  You may opt to tour the Ryman (site of the original Grand Ole Opry), the Johnny Cash Museum or National Museum of African American Music or shop for cowboy boots during your free time in downtown Nashville. 
  • 5:00 PM               Bus picks up guests and returns to hotel
  • 7:00 PM               Line dancing lesson at Nashville Palace – decorated for Christmas (Included).    One-hour lesson begins at 7:30 pm.  Dinner on your own before or after line dancing at Nashville Palace or Scoreboard or other restaurant near hotel. *Line dancing will continue after the lesson with live entertainment at area restaurants/bars.                         
  • 8:30 or later       Return to hotel at leisure.
  • 8:00 AM              Breakfast at hotel (Included)
  • 9:00 AM              Drive to Bass Pro Shop and mall for shoppers and to Opryland Hotel for those wanting to walk through to see Christmas decorations in atrium.  Guests can choose their option.  
  • 10:30 AM           Pick up guests and drive to General Jackson Showboat.
  • 11:15–2:30 PM  Tennessee Christmas cruise aboard the General Jackson Showboat – Cruise on 300’ paddlewheel showboat – lunch and show (Included). 
  • 2:30 PM               Return to hotel to drop off any items
  • 3:00 PM              Depart for downtown
  • 3:30 PM              Tour Country Music Hall of Fame and see Music City Walk of Fame (Included). Free time when finished with museum to explore downtown Nashville sights and sounds.  Enjoy dinner downtown on own at bar/restaurant of choice.
  • 8:30 PM              Bus picks up guests from downtown.  If desired, guests can stay downtown and take an Uber or make reservation for shuttle back to the hotel.
  • 7:00 AM               Breakfast at hotel (Included); bags to bus by 7:00
  • 7:30 AM               Bus departs hotel
  • 9:45-10:00 AM  Rest area stop enroute – Paducah, KY (15 minutes)
  • 12:30-1:30 PM  Lunch in Effingham, IL (HWY 57 and 33 – many fast food restaurants (McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Chipotle, Steak n’ Shake, BK, Panera)
  • 3:00-3:15 PM      Afternoon rest area stop enroute
  • 5:45-6:45 PM      Fast food lunch stop for dinner
  • 8:30-8:45 PM     Evening rest stop – Kwik Trip in WI Dells (15 minutes)
  • 10:15 PM            Arrive back in La Crosse after many memorable experiences in the Music City
